Cloud-based quantum computing is used in several contexts:

- LIQUi|> by Microsoft, which is a software architecture and toolsuite for quantum computing. It includes a programming language, example optimization and scheduling algorithms, and quantum simulators.
- Quantum Experience by IBM, which consists of a simulator and a five superconducting transmon qubit processor. Users interact with the quantum processor through the quantum circuit model of computation, applying quantum gates on the qubits using a GUI called the quantum composer, writing quantum assembly language code or through a Python API. It also hosts a tutorial and online community.
